I am in process of installing an L83 and 6L80 in my '63 Pontiac Catalina, beyond a doubt the most difficult engine swap I have ever done. I have figured out most of the problems and have been for months been hacking and slashing on the trans hump and front crossmember to get this thing in. I have one more problem that I could use some help with. I am trying to keep the appearance of the car as stock as possible and the dash has idiot lights. The oil pressure is simple, just use the original Pontiac sender. The alternator however is another matter. Does anyone know if it is possible to wire an idiot light into the alternator circuitry? I do not want to start hacking up a $900.00 Howell stand alone loom without knowing what I am doing. Whoever I spoke with at Howell said that they did not know for sure but that they did not think that it is possible. My experience is that almost anything is possible it is just a matter of how creative you need to be to get there.
