Default Help 4.8/5.3 problem

Can you put a 5.3 crankshaft inside 4.8 block. Or the stroke would be to long for the pistons

The 4.8 has a shorter stroke(3.267 in) but longer rods (6.275 in)
The 5.3 has a longer stroke (3.622 in.) and shorter rods (6.098 in)

So you would have a longer stroke and longer rod = 0.177 to long.

Why do you want to use a 5.3 crank with the 4.8 rods?

The best combo would be to use the 5.3 crank and rods with the pistons from the 4.8 since they are a flattop design.

Later model 5.3's had flattop pistons and 243/799 heads so the gained several Hp over the LB7

The 4.8 blocks are marked 4.85.3 because the block is both. The crank/rods and maybe pistons differ.
