Default LS1 or LS6 block?

New guy here🥺. I have 2002 CETA. Is there a visual way to tell if my block is a ls1 or a LS6? I know that some cars is 2002 had the LS6 block. Thanx for the info ahead of time.

And the block casting number is on the rear of the block, above the bell housing, on the driver's side, and is a bugger to look for with the engine still in the car the way these engines are stuffed under the firewall. I suppose with the car up on a lift and a mirror or cell phone you can get a look at it from underneath. To much trouble for me, I have never looked for it.

And as Mavn says, it really doesn't mean much, a little bit better oiling between cylinders or something. There have been several threads here about it. Up to 25% of the final couple of years has the LS6 block.

In 17 years of owning my '02 I have never seen a straight answer to this question.
Yup, my 2002 has an LS6 block.

If you want to know look at the back of the block there's a casting number there.
