I've researched and researched. Still not sure on the correct way I should do this. Building a gen3 5.3 with forged flat tops and valve reliefs and btr4 cam. Should I run my perfect shape low mile 862s and have around 10.5 to 1 compression or get a set of better flowing 799s and lose alittle compression from my understanding it will still be around 9.9.1

 

If you plan on boosting it, then it won't matter much. If you're staying N/A, then I'd recommend the 862s.

 

Thanks for your input. I have the 862s already with only 18k. I'll just us them instead of buying 243/799s

 

Yeah you already have the 862 heads which flow well so run them. If you can port them or find someone that can port them for you.
