What will 8-10k budget get me

A few things stand out that I really don't need. Seeing that this is just a daily driver that will never see the track, I don't need the dual exhaust. The TSP cat back is just fine. I don't need the underdrive pulleys, or the catch can or SLP since I already have those. The fuel pump can be deleted as well. I would think that should put things under 10k.

I’m 25 minutes from them. I called them a couple years back and asked about tuning my car. The tech asked me about mods, etc and when I told them I was running Mast electronics, he said “I’ve never heard of Mast”. Conversation didn’t last long after that. I do know several guys that had tuning there, and Charlie locks your ECM after a tune. You have to go back there for a refresh. Not cool in my eyes.

A few more details ... the cam will be 226/232 .600/.600 113 LSA 108 ICL +5°. Will be a custom grind. The stock heads are just 853s but will be milled as well.

Maybe it's just me, but for your purposes I can't see going that much in for an engine for that car. Salvage 5.3, freshen up, maybe baby cam and call it good.
Heck, for a couple of grand more, you could probably find a whole car with reasonable mileage, swap your good parts on it, and sell your old one.

Where I struggle with this decision is that I'm more than a quarter of the way of getting my dream corvette - something around a 2016 low mileage c6. If I don't spend that money on the TA but sell her, I should still get 5k for her and another 5k for 75 vette that I have laying around doing nothing but collecting dust.

For $10k budget I would go with something like TSP for their 383 LS1 short block, decent set of heads, and an LS6 intake and be done. No messing with the harness, your front end assembly will bolt up, and would be easy to drive daily. That's just me though.

C6 is a great bargain and though I don't like the C7's looks that much it is a better DD if you like the newer gizmos and what not. That and it's newer. Nothing wrong with either. My one Accountant went out and got a sub 30k mile stock C6 Z06. Great car. He paid under $40k.

Spartan is a good shop from everything I've heard. If your looking for 500+ whp from a 383 LS1, I would definitely consider Spartan's suggestion to move to a true dual exhaust.
Note - 383 LS1 strokers are basically obsolete with all the 402+ NA builds available. However for a daily driver mannered car the 383 LS1's can still be a nice fun to drive option.
Best wishes with the project.
