You’ll have to have them shipped to NV, unless you can find an older used set, being sold from an individual. Speed Engineering will not sell them to a Cali address….along with many other vendors that are based in Cali. This is why there’s a major exodus of folks leaving that wonderful state out there.

Likely afraid of CARB shutting them down for selling devices that compromise emission levels.
What's stupid is they won't even sell parts for pre-'75 cars that aren't even tested or enforced in any way

Events like Online-retailer-Jegs-pays-1.7-million-settle-case-selling-illegal-auto-parts have scared many companies into full compliance with California's CAFE.

This. Right. Here. There have been a few exhaust companies in the last few years actually stop producing headers because the fines aren’t worth it.

I commend Cali for effort, but nothing they've done has really changed the smog situation, or has it? Agree with post about people leaving. My good friend lived there for over 40 years. He got tired of the license bureau/Secretary of State charging him to license vehicles that were in his garage that he was restoring, and had no intention of driving for several years until he was finished with the restoration. What a money grab. I wouldn't live there if they'd give me a free home......Unless I could sell it.......

The LA basin has FAR cleaner air now than the 70's-80's. We CAN thank the catalytic converter for that, initially, and later, EFI and electronic ignition, both of which lightened the load on converters. Our present day performance cars are living proof of this.

Yes, Cali absolutely changed it. Example Los Angles has double the cars now but only ~ 40 percent of the ozone pollution.

I definitely understand smog's a big deal in some places on the left coast. Cali don't want to let it go back to how it used to be and to me that's understandable regardless if one is left or right.

BTW - Couldn't pay me enough to live in any of Cali's big cities. Visit to LA convinced me I didn't want to live there. The people were nice in Los Angeles so it was really strange compared to visits to places on the East Coast like New York City or Philadelphia...lol

Mid Century Los Angeles Smog

Honestly, looks like something out of a cheap science fiction or horror movie. Hello Smell-A !!!

Given that lead exposure makes people less intelligent and the massive levels of lead California's city's were exposed to it's no wonder so many looney's & nutcases come from Cali's big city's. Estimates are the average mid century American has an IQ 3 points lower than it should be due to leaded gas and pollution. In highly poluted concentrated areas like big California IQ loss is estimated to be more than 6 IQ points.

I don't like driving in fog, this would be horrible on bad smog days in my opinion.

At least its sorta pretty.

Air pollution isn’t just about cars, especially for the last 30 years. Our automobiles and truck made since 1990ish are really clean burning. Industry has a lot to do with smog and air polution especially in the larger populated ares. Used to be a ton of industry around LA. Look at India and China for air quality. It’s beyond terrible. Blaming cars is just easier.

This would be most of Asia, except South Korea and Japan, both of whom are way ahead of their neighbors.....

I love videos and movies from that era. To see the cars when new, driving along, is amazing. Thanks for posting that Wade!

Easy misconception to make. Industry can take some blame, but cars and trucks made most of the smog.
I lived there until the mid 70's, then moved 200 miles north. I noticed when I visited in the ensuing years that my eyes did not burn as much at first, then at all in more recent years. As car dependent as the LA basin is, you had to know most of the smog was from motor vehicles. Catalytic converters get the initial credit, as I mentioned above, but overall cleaner engine design can lay claim in more recent years.

On thing that makes the smog worse on the west coast is the mountains just to the east. They tend to hold the smog in. I've been to Mexico City many times and it sits in kind of bowl. Crazy hazy smog days.
