Unhappy Tech Tip for guys that build their own stuff

When you prime that new engine that you just assembled, be sure and put on the oil filter first----what a mess

LOL, Yeah. I have built and primed several engines but never forgot the filter before.

I got my car put together and filled up the coolant and realized I forgot the coolant block off plug on the passenger side head by dumping a majority of my new jug of coolant all over the passenger header and garage floor. Made a pretty good mess as well. Stuff happens man!

I had a friend who got a job over here at a company that services fire trucks. His first day on the job, he was told to change the oil in a fire truck. He pulled the drain plug and drained the oil out of it. In the meanwhile, he started changing all the filters on it. They were everywhere he said. He never put the oil plug back in the pan. It held about 20 gallons of oil. He dumped 20 gallons in it and pulled the dipstick…oh crap! Drain pan had about 40 gallons of oil in it. He said the boss laughed and asked him what he learned today. This was early 90’s.

Another one: put a plug in the passenger side head for the coolant sensor.
