Default 4.8 to 5.3 swap compatability

I have a 2004 Silverado with the 4.8l 4l60e and I'm wanting to know if a 5.3 from a 2000 suburban will fit my transmission without messing it up

Default ls swap

will a 5.3 vortec from a 2000 suburbans electrical work with a 2004 Silverado 4l603. I know the bolt pattern is the same but I don't want to break my tranny because the electrical is different
I don't know if the years difference will ruin my tranny

The engine is the same, but the engine wiring harness is different between the 99-00 vs 03-07 trucks. Similar to the SUVs. So as long as you retain the wiring harness and associated sensors (like oil pressure sender, etc), you're good.
