I had mine convert up to 125, but the picture of my grandpops 1940-something chevy convert wrecked into a pile of sheetmetal popped up, He still tells me "They thought i was dead until i woke up and started moaning." I figure he used up all the luck in the family so I slowed down.

Only 110 for me (T/A). Too many variables outside of my control even at that speed, 150 would be nuts (but tempting). There are several spots in MS to do it, but random bumps you can't see inhibit any attempts.

The camaro has only seen 85. The tach is way off and I don't feel like pushing my daily car to the limit.

I've only been 105 in my t/a, it actually governed out there! DAMN IT!!! But my first car was 92 t-bird that i took to 140 w/ a mustang, taurus s.h.o., and camaro. The mustang told me after we stoped cause my speedo tached out! It was awesome! Never again though.

Speedo stops at 155, so I'm guessing about 157. I've only done that once. 140 or so a couple of times. Scary crap right there. Not worth my life, I know that.

I was 17. 1984 Z28 57,000 miles 5.0 HO (190 HP) 5-speed 3.42 gears 255/50/16 tires on 16" IROC wheels. 5600 rpm in 5th gear. Held it for 5-10 miles. I was racing a friend who had a 87 IROC with a TPI 350. We always ran dead even everytime we raced. He was governed at about 120; around 30 seconds later he let off cause he couldn't see my tail lights anymore.

148-149. I had about 600 RPMS left but it was taking forever to pull and I was covereing a LOT of ground. It's not really practical or safe to do it, but I had to for bragging rights... but now I'm dissapointed cause I can't say 150 without stretching the truth a tiny bit. I shouldv'e lowered my headlights, I bet just that drag at 149 would make an easy mph difference.

Maybe I'll try one more time after I get a lid. I bet thats worth a lot more than 10 hp with all that incoming air at 140+

What's the 5th gear ratio in that transmission?

When I lived in Nebraska I took her on I-29 north a few times. Miles of flat interstate with no trees and no turns up there was perfect for haulin' ***! I pushed the needle well past the 155 MPH mark. Must have been over 160. God knows what she'll now that it's modded! I'm not about to try that stunt in SC!

02 CAMARO SS

The OD ratio in a 1984 camaro t-5 is .63

Pretty amazing that a completely stock 305 will do that, huh?

About **** my pants the first time I did the math,
the speedo only went to 85 I think

It's been a couple years since then

Just did the math again on that last post
I still have a hard time believing the MPH, but I know all the other numbers are correct
Needless to say, that 305 didn't last long with the type of abuse I put it through!

I have had mine up to 155 twice on the interstate ran out of room, come up on traffic and didn't want to stop too good either. This was in 5th gear and at about 5000rpm pulling hard, so it still had alot to go. I thought that I read that these cars shut off @ 178mph.

That can't be. That comes out to 201.35 mph. Are you sure you didn't have 4.11s or something? That would come out to 167.54 which would still be amazing for a stock 305.

About 125 with the v6. With the ls1 I have only taken it up to 111. That was at the track though.
