Do you Regret Getting/Not Getting T-tops??

I don't believe I have ever seen a 98-02 Camaro without t-tops. Mine never give any problem but I had a 72 vette that had fiberglass panels instead of the glass and I liked it a lot better. My Z28 gets too hot for me even with the liners in.

I really love my t-tops! My first 4th gen f-body was a 95 hard-top Camaro and I only kept it for 5 months, trading it for a 96 Z28 t-top. I now have a 99 Firehawk t-top. As long as I will have the choice, I won't buy anything else than a t-top car in the future.
I never had any leak on my two t-top 4th gen, and my sub-frame connectors took care of the few squeeks they made from time to time.

This is tough.
First let me say that T-tops, or no t-tops I would not bother NOT buying a car b/c either it had em or didn't
T-tops are such a catch 22... On one hand, nothing beats crusing around with the tops off, music up, hotties everwhere stairin, but once you get home after being out in a storm, and your left leg is ******* drenched, you have crotch rash b/c your nuts were wet and rubbing up aginst your leg, thats no fun. I have NEVER seen a set of t-tops that didn't leak besides my dads 99ss's...
I vote for not letting tops change your mind.

T-tops are weet in my opinion. I have them on my z28 and i love them yet i do like the look of some cars without them. My only complaint about them is when you sit in traffic, with them (on or off) you and everything in the car heats up pretty well unless the air is on full blast or you have t-top shades.

I've got the only HARDTOP black z28 in town and love it. No need for subframe connectors either because at the strip the hardtop helps with the structural integrity of the car. Also don't have to worry about leaking weathersripping or the t-tops flying off on the freeway.
But then again T-TOPS make it much easier to GIT-R-DONE in the front seat. That bar could come in handy

I've had the following:
(2) 95 Z28's both with T-tops
97 SS hardtop
98 Formula hardtop
99 30th Trans Am T-Tops
00 SS T-Tops
and my current ride 01 Z28 hardtop
I've actually come to like the hardtop cars more although
I'd never pass on a nice car if it had T-tops...the 4th gen cars
are WAY better made than the 3rd gen cars so it's just a matter
of what you like!

Ttops/Targa > anything.
Thats part of what makes these cars so special/fun to drive. Unless its a hardtop Vette, (cus those look cool) I wouldnt even consider it.

All my 4th gens (owned 3 so far) have been t-top cars. I love 'em, but rarely take them off due to weather (usually it's either too hot or too cold). I never drive the car in the rain so I can't speak on leaks with my particular car, but of the other T-top 4th gens I've been in during the rain, I've never seen one leak. But the owners of these cars took excellent care of them, and kept the seals clean and conditioned; and that makes all the difference.
My 3rd gen was a hard top car though.
However, whether or not I was going to buy a certain car would never come down to t-tops one way or the other, unless that was the ONLY difference.

honestly, i just bought my ss.. stole it for a lot less than it was worth. if it didnt have t-tops i wouldnt have got it. i love t-tops. they are amazing. IMO convertibles are ugly, hard tops are nice. t-tops are the best of both worlds. t-tops all the way

Well whatever i get is going to be outside 90-95% of the time during the spring and summer months and covered while i'm at school. Think i'd run into leaking problems w/ it outside with no cover 5-6 months a year?

I dont think they should leak, as long as you take car of it. i have had 2 4th gens, both t-tops (one with over 120k miles on it) and neither ever leaked. they redesigned the t-tops, so i think leaking 4th gens should be rare.
