So for the first time I bounced off the limiter.
I was stuck behind this old guy doing 15 in a 45 zone. We came to a red light and the road ahead had a broken white line so I decided I would pass him. No one was behind me so I let him get a little distance off the light and from a roll I nailed the gas in first. I went by him in 2 seconds but looked down to see a hit 6k rpm and bounced off the limiter. I got off the gas and went into 4th and everything seemed fine. No ticking, oil pressure was still the same as it always is. My car only has 25k miles on it but in the 2+ years I've owned it I have never bounced off the limiter before. I will normally shift before 5500 even when I'm on it hard. As I normally baby this car I am a little nervous that I may have hurt the engine. What do you guys think? I'm a just paranoid or could I have done some damage?

The worse part of hitting the rev limiter is the embarrassment factor. Especially if you're running somebody.
I've pulled a Blur and gone 2-3-2, that wasnt cool. But it wasnt as bad as going 1-2-1, did that with my Tacoma, once again, talk about embarrassing.

I've never been so happy that these bitches have a reverse lockout solenoid in my life!
Me and my rev limiter are pretty tight. It's at 6800 now and I tap it every now and then. The stock '98 rod bolts are probably waving a white flag in my oil pan.
