I don't think was the brand.. I think it was bcause it was an older station.

Alright fellas....education time. My dad works at a oil distribution terminal where trucks load gas and diesel fuel to carry it to the gas stations. It is true that all gas typically comes from the same place....same pipeline. Someone mentioned that their friend climbs on top of a truck and dumps additive in the tank before he unloads....never heard of that before. The additive is mixed at the terminal before it is ever placed in the truck. The reason people see nonbranded trucks hauling gas to branded gas stations is because the guys who have private trucks will haul gas to whatever gas station will take the gas. But if they are hauling for a bp station they go to the bp terminal and filll the truck and then go to the bp station to unload the truck. So there is never a truck that is getting filled at say a exon terminal and unloaded at a bp station. Someone else said a particular brand looked watered down. BP which bought amoco several years ago has and amoco's ultimate gas is clear. That is something that bp is very proud of....it's suppossed to burn cleaner and have more additives. Shell is known for having a higher amounts of detergent than any other gas.....which is supposed to clean your fuel system better. I personally run 93 octane bp gas in my car. My car seems to like it and I've never had any problems with it. Amoco ultimate is supposed to have some of the highest amounts of additives if not the highest....as far as power adder and gas mileage additives...and it is also supposed to be some the most enviromentally friendly gas you can use due to how clean it burns. Truth is most people won't ever notice the difference between brands of gas....but if you truly want the best definitely get a branded gas with a higher additive rate.

i have heard that before too. I guess thats why alot of gas trucks arent branded. My grandfather was a Tug-boat captain and said that tankers would come in bringing oil/gas and the trucks would load from the same tanks. I dont know if it would still be true today.

Yeah, being the Official Fuel of NASCAR must have done alot for Sunoco's business because their stations are popping up everywhere.

I use 76 since it is the cheapest in the area. I have seen one Chevron station that is cheaper. I don't like Shell because of their ethanol additive... the pump says up to 10% can be ethanol which burns faster.. plus Shell is overpriced.

Actually Mobil and Exxon are obligated to give up stations as part of their merger. You live in the DC area I assume, lots of stations in that part of the country belonging to Mobil and Exxon, so now lots of new Sunoco stations.

Ah, didn't know that they merged... Actually, outside of Baltimore but close enough... come to think of it the Sunoco station that I go to used to be an Exxon.

I get my gas at the same station at the same pump for every vehicle I own LOL. The reason is N.J. don't let you pump your own gas but I've gotten friendly with the turbins and they just wave and say "Hey Boss" (probably the only 2 english words they know) and let me do it myself.

It really funny watching other people watch me pump the gas and try to do it themsevles and you can tell they never done it, their like "where the F*** does this nozzle go!"
Seriously? Why? I'm glad I live in hick-*** Va, where you'll never find a full-service station.

I use Amaco Fuels (BP) for three reasons.

1) Highest octane in town for premium 92 (compared to 91 elsewhere)
2) About the same price as the other places premium (sometimes cheaper in places)
3) BP Credit Card gets me cash back
