Wow. Before you ask much more, please make sure you check out the stickies and research. Pretty much any F-body, for sure 3rd, and 4th gens all have Vette engines. 3rd Gens having TPI's, early 4th gens getting an LT1, and 98+ getting an LS1, the 4th gens pretty much got identical motors to the vettes save for 2 bolt mains in the LT1's opposed to the Vettes LT1 that got a 4 bolt main.

1997-2004 Corvette = Ls1
1998-2002 Fbody = Ls1

Some small differences year to year between the Ls1's, but the Fbody and Ybody platforms always got the same engine relative to eachother. Only performance differences between the engines would consist of the different exhaust setups.

your research is going to show you that f-bodies are rated at 305 - 320hp depending on model and package, and 340 hp with the SLP package. i just want to point out that GM underrated the f-body to make the corvette look faster than it really was to justify the price. the fact is, the difference in horsepower between the 'vette and f-body was ~5hp. the f-body actually puts more to the wheels than any 'vette of the same year due to their solid rear and less drivetrain loss. the SLP packaged f-body would be more powerful than the 'vette putting more like 365-370hp to the flywheel. the only corvette more powerful would be the ZO6. vette's were just faster because they were lighter and more aerodynamic and some models had a gearing advantage.
