Default Am I the only one who does this?

As of right now I am saving up for a Ls1 Camaro I should be able to get there by Febaury or March. So heres what I am doing I have pretty much decided on what I will do to it even though it is gonna be like 7 months from now. I was thinking of Painted pacesetter LT's TSp TD's lid 3600 stall BFG DR's and a dynotune 150 shot ( going for an 11 sec DD) is this normal or what?

I never did that. Then again, most of those parts didn't exisit yet for our cars when I bought my first LS1.

Just today I was thinking if I should get a loudmouth catback at the end of this summer (when I have more $) or just wait till she's back on the road next spring. Already planning a 12bolt, stall, and cam when I get out of school (at least 3yrs).

Not abnormal at all.. some of my customers buy parts for cars that haven't even been built yet... such as an intake for a C6 Corvette.. it's crazy..

Man I do that with EVERYTHING I buy. If it has mods available, I do it.

But, I must say that if you plan on keeping the car get coated headers, not painted.

And as far as the tires go....do somemore checking DO LOTS MORE CHECKING i havent heard that many good things about the bfgs however look into the mickey thompson drag radials those are some meat hooks for the street and great for the strip to better then nittos for sure....like everyone said you will change a million times over...research it all look at some mild/medium/hardcore cams and maybe some porting before you spend 300+ $ on a dynotune save the tune on where its gonna net you the most.....jus my .02

The reason I wanted the painted ones is for the price. BFG or nittos are the only thing I would put under it for the rear ends sake I looked in to the cams and a thought the Dyno tune 150 wet shot would be better on the street until I got more money saved up

I gotcha.....im not sure on the price check for the painted pacesetters but the ceramic coated when i got them were only 350...and i dont regret it it also helps to keep SOME..not much but Some of the heat contained..and as far as the tire go do a search of your own and look up the mickeys they arent slicks they have a very similar if not identical tred pattern as the nitto 555R not sure bout the bfg....so if your that worried bout the rear you might as well stick to street tires then. my buddy has 555r's and he didnt bust anything at the track and he was launchin from around 3500k or so almost dead hook... track prep was amazing that day haha. anyway im sure someone else will chime in but you wont see a ton from the dyno tune with jus simple bolt ons you will see some maybe 10rwhp idk maybe more but its at least 3 hundo for those 10 hp if i were you i would have fun with lid and exhaust and tires which will net you mid 12's if you can drive it. and if you wann do n2o go for it its a blast but save the tune money for when you make a big jump like a power adder such as turbo/super charging h/c or something of that nature

once again its jus my .02 so take it for what its worth

hmmm, i would say with a dr gettin prolly a 1.9 60' maybe better with your stall plus full exhaust and throw in a lid and bellow and k&n with a 150 shot id say you have a really good chance of making 11's id say thats reachable no problem...im tryin to think here, you can look around maybe a scanner would be good for you b/c you can increase your shift points and make them quicker....also you might look into a shift kit which will make them faster and crisper one word of advice especially if your gonna be shooting 11's GET SUBFRAME CONNECTORS you WILL twist your chassis with that kind of power so do your self a favor and save your doors n trunk and hood from not lining up and WELD them in ther not that much maybe 220
