Post I put my '99 SS on the scale...

My buddy works at a dairy, so we tried the scales out tonight.

1999 Camaro SS, hardtop, A4, no weight reduction, gas tank near E.
3400 lbs, with no driver...

I thought it would be 3600+.

I was expecting mine to way 3600lbs or so at Houston Raceway in January. Ended up weighing 3400 even. This is with a 12-bolt and 17x9.5/11 TTII's, with everything still in the car, even the spare/jack.

I need to get mine weighed. The dyno runs always register it as 3600. Maybe so, it is the WS6 and they tend to be heavy.

3400 would be nice though...

Hardtop is lighter than the t-top. my car was 3656 with me init. I weigh 160, so roughly 3500#. 3400 for your car sounds about right.

Better traction with him in the back, Thoough he does take up much needed T-top space.

All the stories Iheard of the 3rd gen cars being lighter are false i weighed mine the other week and i hit 3560lbs with no jack or spare tire and at the time i think i even had the rear seats out :S... why do these motors tend to make a 3rd gen faster then??

i thought it was 8 lbs per gallon. maybe that was water, nevermind. I just remembered being surprised when i filled up my 55gal fish tank and the sucker weighed like 450lbs. Now you know why people run at the track at almost empty, gas is heavy

I just put my 99 WS6 with t-tops on the scale, gas almost on empty, without me in it, came in at 3410lbs.
