I really like both, but I there were alot fewer firebirds and trans ams around here compared to the camaros. That was the main reason I went with the TA... plus I like the spoiler, hood and ground effects alot better than the v6 looking formulas. But I guess it just depends on what you are going for... a formula can be an unbeatable sleeper car if thats the look you are going for.

I have a 98 Trans Am. Never had a camaro. The camaros look real nice and even better when they are done up. The only thing I thought when the newer body style camaro came out in 1998 was that the front looked like a Chrysler Sebring or something like that with the headlights and all.

When I first got my latest TA, I was following my brother home and he said it looked like an evil red dragon was following him.

I love the look, but it is over the top... the trans am way

My favorite f-body is the Trans Am Firehawk, with the regular T/A spoiler. Vert or t-top, they are both bitchin'. Although I wish GM had made a hardtop Trans Am, it cleans up the lines and makes it look sleeker.

Formulas are cool, but I have a major problem with those two ugly tumors surrounding the liscene plate.

On the interior, no doubt Firebird>Camaro. Cooler door panels, cool dash, red gauges, and much better seats(Camaro seats suck and I switched mine to Firebird seats).

If I were to do it all over again, I'd look for a six speed T/A. However, I wouldn't pass up a 6 speed SS, Z28 or Formula if it were the right color, good condition, and the right price.

I thought about getting a Trans Am instead of a Z28, but the Pontiac dealerships were getting sticker price or better for them and not very willing to negotiate. I scrimped and saved for months to have enough to make the down payment and have enough left over for savings and stuff, so a Z28 was all I could afford. I'll be the first to admit, the Camaro's stylings are "boring" compared the the Trans Am, but those of you who know me know that I'm much more into the "sleeper" look anyway. I think the lines on both cars are great.

I recently thought about selling the Camaro and getting a Trans Am instead, but after all the time and money I've invested in this car to get the suspension the way I want it, I'd hate to tear it all out and start over on another car. If/when I sell the Camaro, it will either be for a Corvette or a project car (like a '71 Camaro RS with the split front bumper).

And, for those of you Trans Am owners who love to point out how much the Camaro looks like a catfish, here is what I think of every time I see a WS6 head-on.

They can all be tailored to look badass if you want them to. I'd have to say that I wouldn't get rid of my Camaro for a Firebird and am very pleased with how my car has turned out since I've done the paint, wheels and other little things. The best looking 4th gen F-bodies IMO are LT1 SS, LS1 Firehawk and Formula WS6 and the clean no frills LS1 Z28. The LS1 SS looks awesome too, but there is just something about a red LT1 SS that makes me want one over the LS1.

I was looking for a LS1 T/A when I found a good deal on my black 98 Z28. Needless to say, I love my car and probably wouldn't trade it for a T/A. I'd still like to have a WS6 though.

I see more females driving/getting out of T/A's around here too.

The TA has always seemed more gawdy to me personally.

The one TA that I always really liked (for some reason) was the Turbo TA.... something about the lines on that 3rd gen were killer but the interior was ***.

I wouldn't trade my SS for a TA. If I had to go with something else, I'd take a white SS rag-top for the contrast to mine now!

I don't know why but the TA just seems like a chicks car to me. I've always felt that way all the way back to the 77. Those that call the Camaro a catfish....I call the WS6 a snorting Wart Hog

gotta say guys, i think camaros will be the only car i ever drive, but for a more personel reason. i grew up in a Ford family and by the time all i could think about was 5.0 mustangs, every damn kid at school had one and i drooled over each and every one and told them how lucky they were as i got in my 87 cougar with a 3.8!! well one day i was driving and i saw a pristine 86 IROC, candy apple red, for sale, pulled over, looked at every stinkin inch, guy let me have it for the day and i took it home, went to a friends house who had a 90 5.0 gt that i loved, we raced, i killed him and the rest is history! Now im on my third z and ive never looked back!! Anyway, rant over, +1 vote for the camaro!
