Honestly, your probably going to get max $15K for you modded SS as modded cars dont sell well, and then your going to have o shell out $25K plus for a clean black 03 or 04 cobra...with that $10K you could have a forged shortblock, H/C, 12 bolt and be in the low to mid 11's...Its up to you but you have your camaro paid offso why not keep it instead of getting another loan? Cobras are badass cars so if your set on getting one then go for it but your SS looks sweet, why sell it?

12.5's all day long. 3500 TCI stall and Pacesetter headers. I paid $275 for the headers $400 for the stall. So thats $675 to run 12's. You dont have to have H/C pacakge to run 12's. Z28 A4's with little to few mod's ie no H/C can go mid to low 12's all day long and be reliable or daily driven.

When my '00 WS6 had just a Yank 3500 stall, Air Lid, catback, and some BFG DRs it went 12.6s.
Doesn't take much at all to get an A4 LS1 into the mid 12s.

I think that SS is beautiful....and you own it. What more could you want? $5K dollars would have you making some awesome power with the mods to support it, ie the rear end.
On the other hand, Cobra's are badass. My buddy had a '04 with bolt-ons and a pulley and it was a blast to drive. Instant boost=instant gratification. It pulled so friggin hard and that blower whine was music to my ears. We raced on the highway once when I had LT's/TD's and lid....me with an empty tank and no passengers, him with a full tank and two rather heavy ladies (long story). Anyway, that 3rd gear rape was over before it started. He passed me like I was standing still. Granted A4 vs M6 on the highway is not a great spot to be in, but still, it was a raping like I've never had before or since.
My opinion is to keep that beautiful SS and throw a few more dollars at it. You'll be reliably running 11's and looking good while doing it.

I think the deal is that sometimes you just get an itch for something different. It's really not necessarily practical or logical; although typically a whole lot of rationalizing goes into it. You have a car for a while, are involved with it, do the stuff that you want to do to it and then after a while, other things start looking interesting. I think that may be what's going on here.

I drove a modded 04 cobra ( pulley/exhaust/ported blower) and it was like a WFC fighter punching a kitten. I've driven ls1 cars before, and I like the mustang a **** ton better. I love the INT's, and the seating position as well.

I would personally go with a 02 Z06. Yes the cobra makes impressive numbers but it needs to for its weight.
But there is nothing wrong with the Cobra, in fact I love em.
But why spend 25k for a mustang when you can spend a little more and get a 405hp vette.
I went back and forth between Cobra and F-body, I went f-body for now, then when I grad it's Z06 time.

Are you tall? I find that the general consensus, locally at least, is that shorter guys fit the stang better, and the f-car worse. I'm 5 foot 9 inches, and have to have my seat almost all the way up to the steering wheel to be able to drive my car. Auto f-cars ain't as bad b/c you don't have to sit at a light or in traffic with your left leg extended for a long time, but still, I have to sit closer. Getting into a f-body is also a bitch, low slung seating and long *** doors always yields me bending myself into a pretzel to get into my car unless I can open the door ALL the way, which some *** hole always makes sure I cannot, by parking right next to me...
The only part about the 04 I drove I didnt like was the shifter, it was a straight short stick, with a ball ****, for the owner ( taller guy with longer arms ) it was nice, but for me, I'd of liked a stick with a bend in it to get it closer to me, but it wasn't horrible.

Heres the thing, I have been looking at 03 Cobras for a while and I am thinking that I might sell and go with the ford. I would not have to take out a big loan because the Camaro is payed off. I would not be doing much to the cobra because I only want a low 12 second car thats reliable. With the camaro I would have to replace the rear. I am just stuck becasue I like my camaro and have done the all the work on it so we have bonded. But a Black 03 Terminator would suite me just well. What do you guys think?
Sorry for the book.
