Default My 96 Z28 got murdered... but got my new to me 98 today

Hello ladies and gents... on 6-10-06 my 96 convertible Z28 got killed by an old man with bad vision... I was going down the street at about 30-35 mph and he backed out of a parking space, which is perpendicular to the street, hit the passenger side of my car and ripped the whole rearend off the car... the car was then deemed a total loss by his insurance company... the good news from that is they gave me $10,500 for the car which I turned around today and bought a 99 convertible Z28 for $10,200 with 60,000 miles on the ticker... the car's interior and exterior are flawless and only had one driver with all service documentation included with the car... I was wondering what should I do to this beauty to make her a little faster? O yeah it is an M6

Thanks man... I have been checking thru the forum and I am definitely going to do all fluids and tune-up(with NGKs and MSD wires)... then time to make it breath better with a lid and Magnaflow with some Pacesetter LTs... I hope this will wake it up a bit

I think I would strengthen the chassis of your 'vert first by adding a set of subframe connectors. Then you can throw the serious power makers at it like LT's, cams and the like.

And sorry about your '96...but everything happens for a reason

If i were I would build my suspension up first then start in with some serious power adders cause if you cant plant your power then the power is not gonna do you any good

Check BMR's site. I think they have good products at a reasonable price.

welded SFC's are more rigid. You will never remove them anyways.

Easy mods for your car? airbox lid, headers, catback exhaust. I'd recommend a shifter too, the stock ones are kind of rubbery feeling.
