Is there any magazine article and picture that compare cars to have proof to him that there the sane exact engines. Right down to the nuts and bolts, except for the camshaft of course.

That might help if you look under applications, it has both 97-04 Corvette and 98-02 Camaro/Firebird's listed.

Indeed they are very very similar. But the TB setup is different and also the Corvettes lack of EGR. So far I've never found out why the Corvette didn't have EGR while the Fbody's of the same year did. There must be some reason for it though.
But in simple language an Ls1 is an Ls1, if it isn't then it's something else like a Lt1 or LQ4 or so on.
So if your friend can't grasp that simple logic there really is no hope.
Next time he brings it up I'll show him the article on Wikipedia, if he still doesn't grasp it, the article on the 98 camaro on Muscle Car Club website clearly states the Corvette's LS1 being put in the 98-2002 Camaro, if that doesn't help, no use in fighting it.
ya there is no dif. b/t the 2 cars and i saw the dyno also with the vette and f-body i believe the vette made 285HP and f-body was like 290 or something like that. unbelievable never would have thought that but what make the vette and the f-body dif. is that the weight dif thats what makes the vette faster. and the guy prob thinks there dif engines bc the vette has the lil plastic covers over the valve covers and fuel rails and hes like ya thats totally dif. freaking DA
people these days. and just bc you work at a dealership doesn't mean you know anymore than any1 else.
