WS6 = Whoops a Stock 6.
It was originally thought up by the consumer when the ricers though that V6s were big. Then GM created the WS6 to combat the smaller V6s. That was when the first V8 was created, in 1997. It is scientific fact.

SS = Super Sport
Z28 = RPO Code
WS.6 = RPO Code
RS = Rally Sport
I think GM needs to pick either letters that stand for something or RPO codes and stick with it
I wouldn't mind owning a Chevy Camaro WU.8 haha

A couple weeks after i got mine, a guy in a bmw pulled up to me and asked if it was a 6 cylinder, because he saw the WS6 emblem...forgot all about that..
