I can see 348rwhp with only a lid and catback/cutout being possible, but definately on the high side.
Here is an article with about 25 dyno runs testing different lids back in 2004: http://www.motorsporttech.com/press/...ay2004_02.html
Looks like about 332 rwhp with a lid and catback on a 2000 model -- an '01 or '02 with LS6 intake is generally worth 10hp, so 340's is definately possible.

pretty much what everyone else is saying, the 02 is a WAY better deal with 1/2 the miles of the SS. If the mileage was closer I would pick the SS b/c of the way it looks but im also a bit bias.

Get the 02.
The SS is NOT just an appearance package. The suspension (including wheels and tires) is significantly better than standard Z. The cat back is also better (a little, but enough). An SS will also command more resale but that's a bad topic for these cars anyway.
That said, the better intake, clutch, mileage, and cost tilt it WAY in favor of the 02. Now, I'd take a well cared for 90k car over a beat on 50k one, but only you can make that call based on what you see and feel during a drive.
From what we know, get the 02.

Get the SS. It's an SS man, it has to be better.
Honestly, the resale value on F-bodies is nothing spectacular, and will only get worse when the new Camaros are out. Buy the car that is in the best condition, and drive the **** out of it while you have it.

2002 camaro z-28 $12,000...............02 is a plus and is a good $$$ deal
50,000 miles..................................lower mileage than the SS is always a plus
Maroon exterior Black leather interior..had both color exteriors and the maroon does look great when kept clean but i now prefer pewter
6 speed T-tops..............................I prefer autos
#2-
2000 Camaro SS $13,9000...............to much $$
91,000 miles..................................to high of miles for me
Pewter exterior Tan leather interior....perfect
6 speed T-tops..............................again I prefer autos
Overall I would take the 02 Z28 hands down

yeah i did, but was waiting to scroll down to see if the starter was gunna say anything bout it. I agree tho super_fro_daddy i'd keep looking if it was a 50k car and had tranny work. Sure it may have been a freak thing that wasn't right from the get go but these T-56's can hand some abuse so I'd be very picky bout the whole thing....

He said they bought it at an auction in Kansas city, but its not here in Joplin MO. yet because a sync went out and its at a shop in KS getting fixed. That is all he said.
When i bought the car i have now they said a sync went out, and they got it fixed, and i have had no trouble with the tranny.

I'd get the '02. Newer is usually better, and as shown here, lower miles. True "last of breed" car with a direct lineage from the late 60s. The SS will obviously command more resale as jmilz mentioned, but aside from that, nothing more. We assume you'll mod the car anyway, and SS hoods/spoilers are everywhere not to mention that you can easily build a suspension equal to or better than an SS.
Good luck.
Good luck.
