Ok, is it normal for these cars to feel like the are kinda hesitating or not getting much power at the very top of 2nd (in an a4 w. 3.23s)? As my car gets to the top of 2nd it feels like the power goes away and it kinda leaves you hanging for like .5-1 sec. before it finally kicks into 3rd and gives you some more power. It just felt weird to me considering these cars are supposed to be the best up top I thought.
I've had no experience riding or driving in other LS1s so i don't know if it's normal or not.

To answer your 2nd question, no its not normal for these cars to hesitate or feel alot weaker up top. You may be having a very rapid misfire from your plugs not connecting properly or just being old causing the problem, a rapid misfire wouldn't cause the SES light to flash either. I'd check your plugs/wires and change them, gap them properly then change out your transmission fluid. The 4L60E isn't the strongest tranny and doens't like heat at all (like all trannys) and the LS1 isn't exactly a weak motor... so, its only a matter of time.
DISCLAIMER: When I say its only a matter of time, I meant it could go out at 100k, or 150k theres no way to know.

Well the car is only at 24k. I just put new plugs in like 1-2k miles ago when I did the headers (see ngk's in my sig) and I gapped them right too. When I say that I mean that when it gets up to the very top of the rpms it just feels like it hesitates, it feels like it's forever, but its really only probably like .5-1 second like I said, but it doesn't feel like something that an LS1 would do the way everyone talks about them. To give you an idea of the power, there is no less power when it goes into 3rd(its probably the same between 1 & 2 I just don't notice it as much because you get there faster bcause of the gear) then at the top of 2nd, it might have a little more even, I don't know. Also, it shifts at 5500 and I heard they are supposed to shift at 5800, so I don't know if thats true or not. Or why It would be happening. Is that someting that can be fixed when I get it tuned some day to?

The problem could just be simple fact that an auto takes it's time in between gears. Mine does that but its not a loss in power only the gear change. Installing a shift kit will fix it.

mine did the same thing on the dyno at 6500. the tach didn't move, but the dynograph showed 6700. it just felt like the car stopped making power. i'm not complaining though because it made 450 uncorrected.

Haha, yeah, I wouldn't complaining either
.
I heard that a torque converter would also fix the problem, but I don't understand how that would be true... Anybody know if it is, or how it's true if it really is?
