Default car feeling at 100+

i noticed that when i get up around 100 my car vibrates really bad and the whole thing just feels bad. i'm not talking just suspension but interior pannels and everything. like the whole car. is this a common issue or is it just me?

Maybe you have a wheel and/or tire that is out of balance just bad enough that you only notice it at high speeds?

Your driveshaft could be out of balance as well.

Check your shocks. Mine was similar. It would sway side to side at about 110mph. The easiest way to check the shocks is to stick you fingers between the top of the tire and the fender, then go to the other side and see if it has the same gap. If thats not it then Id balance the wheels and d/s

If it is that bad, I wouldn't call it 'normal'. My car feels relatively good above 100, the vibrations really aren't bad. It could be tons of different things causing it...out of balance wheel, driveshaft, suspension...hopefully someone can help you more...

My car feels VERY stable above 100. I barely even hear the T-tops whistle.

I havent ever noticed vibrations, but you can hear the wind streaming by and it starts to feel a little light in the front which i hear is partly due to the tires being the same width? Is that true?

Yeah my car is pretty damn good at 140 even..

Then again, my car is lowered and I know my wheels are balanced.. I balanced them myself =)

I don't notice any additional vibrations over 100 either. I start really getting wind noise at 120 - 130. By 150 there's a hell of a lot of wind and engine/exhaust noise but still no shaking. My first guess would be a tire out of balance.

I don't think so. I have 275's up front and 315's out back and I can feel it getting a little light...

The springs determine the ride height, not the shocks.

Bad shocks will not control the springs properly, resulting in alot of bouncing. Press down on the bumper and let go - good shocks should stop the suspension bouncing in a few cycles.

it feels stable. a little floaty but that's expected. it just seems like everything on the car vibrates a little bit. honestly it probably makes more noise than actual feeling. just wondering if its just the cheap interior vibrating or maybe something more serious.

I have had several F-bodys. All of them felt good over 100, except for the 96' Formula I had. It was a base model car with crappy tires,16 inch wheels, a crap suspension. My 99' Z28 felt extremely stable and safe at even 150. I figure you have one of the above stated problems. Also, some engine vibration and shuddering could be caused by a clogged fuel filter as well when at high speeds. Make sure your tires are H-Rated, proper tire presure, and have been properly balanced.

check tire pressure to make sure that the front set and the rear set are equal
Check balance
check alignment
check for bad shocks?

My neon has hit 100+ a few times; which is quite a bit lighter and it cruises fine smooth as hell. Yes the front end gets lighter b/c of aerodynamics. Put on a set of canards and you will increase front downforce keeping that light feeling away.
