ummmmmm....the little badge says Firehawk or trans am or formula.
j/k feeling sarcastic.
If you goto the Ponitac forum or search, I'm sure I've seen it discussed somewhere. Another popular question is the difference between the Z28/SS

firehawk is a limited edition firebird, different body options, like different spoiler options, either formula or TA body style... different hood, nose badge, interior badging including floor mats, special wheels, and i believe some specific performance options as well as suspension options.

did i mention they are very limited in production? very few made, quite rare, and getting more rare as the years go by.
if you've never seen one, and want to, look up "firehawk#608", he has by far THE cleanest hawk on this site, fully polished engine, Incon TT setup, best hawk i've seen.

I have only seen one in real life before. I was just asking because there is a white 99 firehawk A4 for sale up here for 12,900 it has 97,000 miles. I already have my eye set on an 02 z28 though.

If anyone wants to look at it go to www.autotrader.com and type in zip code 64801, search within 100 miles, select Pontiac trans am. They are listed by price so just scroll down to 12,900.

yea, all the guys that I work with think it's a beautiful car, especially after I detail it every Sunday or so. They really like the contrast from the maroon and the chrome.
Now I just neeed to get rid of the aluminum snowflake and get some chorme replacement of some sorts to complete the "Look".

Does throwing your name and some options on a WS6 really count as a rare car? Blackbirds are amazing cars.

Don't get me wrong, Blackbirds are amazing cars. However, at the end of the day they are just the product of a single dealership's superb use of marketing. On the other hand, the Firehawk had a mythical draw to it. Seems like every car buff I know, from my friends in town to family across the country, have heard about the Firehawk.
I understand SLP and Carl Black took the same approach while designing their cars: take base LS1 models and mod them. Carl Black sold his through his dealership. SLP's Firehawk was available throughout the nation. It is from this national market that the legend of a Firehawk has been born, not merely appealing to a small market of studly car guys like us
