My car is about to roll over the 100K mile mark. I'm not worried a bit! An older lady had it before. It does not consume ANY oil. Ive been checking b/c Ive waited a longer period of time to change the oil to just see what its doing. Hasnt consumed any oil at all. I changed all the fluids when I got it, seafoamed the car and it runs like a champ. It will be seeing cam, heads, spray, 4000 stall (converter in a few days). Only thing I am WORRIED about is the stock 4L60E. Somthing will have to be done about it soon.

I have 109K on the 98 Z and with some bolt ons she's faster than the day I bought her with 55K on the clock. I definitely worry more about the rear end and the six speed tranny than the motor. I have had to replace the rear end twice....once due to drag racing. Second gear also seems to have had its better days...but you can't beat the ol' LS1!!!

i'm at 88000 right now on my car, and still runs strong, and no smoking. ready to have it for the rest of it's like. Have big plans for the car in the future. Once it's taken off daily driver duty.

Have I posted in here yet? Alzheimers and too lazy to read all the posts to check.

Anyway, my wife's 2000 B4C has 119K and runs very strong. 13.25 with just a lid at SAR. Doesn't burn oil and gets 24-26 MPG on the highway (A4 with 3.23's). I have not run a compression test on any of the cylinders. No reason to and I don't have that kind of free time

It's the pewter "V6 looking" one on the left.

I just crossed 132,000 on my 1998 Z-28 with the 4L60E hunk of junk, I'm trying to blow up the tranny to get a 6-speed put in there. We'll see how these 315 BFG Drag's do, ha ha. It still runs stronger than new and uses no oil, no piston slap, nothing.. It get's babied too though.

F-bodies - the Honda of Muscle Cars?

Before I wrecked it, my LT1 was clocking 127k and running perfectly fine. That's nothing compared to some of you guys over 150+ on LS1s though.

look around this thread, everyone is talking about rear ends and trannys giving out.

trust- i found it out front at a used car lot. the place looked shady to begin with but when i see an LS1, I have to at least give it a try.

Not an LS1 but my brother had all of yaw beat! He had a 95 z28 that went just over 232,000 miles before something in the bottom end broke, the engine and tranny were never rebuilt! It was his daily driver from 30k miles in 97 up to Dec 04.

Cant remember where I read it, but I read somewhere that when BMW first entered a turbo in the F1 in the early 80's they had problems in the first year with blocks cracking... the next year they bought a load of second hand high mileage engines and used those as with constant start-stop-start they'd been stress relieved...... that was the first year they won F1 with a turbo
