Hey im new to these forums, but love f-bodies and would have one if i could afford insurance. I have a "friend" who has a 2002 z28. He has bolt on and a mild street cam. He is telling everyone around here hes got 400+ whp. Also he says he ran a 11.73 @ 119 with a 2.2 60ft on street tires. He alsohas nitrous but he has never ran the car with nitrous, actually used a whole bottle purging (which i veiw as semi ricerish). I am just curious as to what kind of power numbers he would be putting down, which if it were near 400 i wouldnt be suprised, but im more interested in the times an average drive could run with the setup he has. This isnt because i plan to race him i just want an idea on what he would run. Oh he has also told my roomate he ran a 11.7 at 125 now too. So im just trying to get some accurate numbers for his car. now he refuses to go to the track so telling him to do that is out of the question. Thanks for any help/information.

 

the 119 is capable of mid 11's, the 125, low 11's, but if both are 11.7, those MPH's are too high for a 400 RWHP car, at least the 125 is for sure, anything higher than 115 I would say is more than 400RWHP.

what kind of cam is he running? 400whp is easily acheivable cam only with the right supporting mods, and a good tune.

as for his times, i'd say its possible, a friend of mine with a LS1 vette with nothing but exhaust and a 150 shot of nitrous did a 14.7 @ 125mph, yes 125mph. the 14.7 was because he slowly creeped off the line, he wasn't going for ET, just a high trap.

anyways, i'd give him the benefit of the doubt albeit he knows what he is talking about and not just using ricer math. but i'd def. want to see some time slips.

My last race I ran 10.10 @ 100 mph in the 1/8 and 13.62 @ 151mph in the 1/4.My car was loaded up for most of the 1/8 and it finally cleared up.Not an LSX motor but an LS1 car.

well its not BS, im not going to say his name bc hes prob a member here. I respect his car bc i know it has power, i believe his mods. I dont believe that he ran a 11.7 though. He does have a time slip....its a photo copy, so i can say i ran an 11.7 too. but i wont ill run a 13.3. An he is a bad driver...so...with stock wheels and tires, and a bad driver run a 11.7 w/o NO2?
