Yep when you're gas gauge reaches E (or maybe one notch before-hand) a red Check Gauge light comes on. Apparently we don't deserve a gas specific light like what most other cars have. But yeah I don't know I go to E or near it all the time and last time i filled up I was ON E and my car only took 12.2 gallons which means i still had more than 4.5 gallons left. Just what I'm saying is don't trust your gas gauge. Especially when empty = 4.5 gallons

My check guage light has never come on for gas, it did when my belt slipped and the car almost over heated though. Weird.

thats the main reason that i always fill up my car when i needle gets to around the 1/4 full mark. Had a fuel pump go out on my 92 camaro, and what a pain in the butt to replace. don't want to have to do it in this car.

It sounds like some of you have had bad luck with your fuel pumps. I run my car down until the gas gauge reads "E" every time. I've owned the car for 1 1/2 years and I've never had a problem.
