Default Do I have a LS6 intake?

How do I know if I have a LS6 intake? I bought a 98' SS with a couple mods. I forgot if he said he put a LS6 intake on it or not. Does anyone know?

check and see if you have EGR, its a big hose running out of the top of the front of the intake like right before the throttle body. if there is no egr you have an ls6 intake. If there is egr, you may still have one but its the slp one with egr and in this case im not sure how to tell.

I sure don't have an egr. I remember him saying I don't have an egr when I bought the car, but I don't remember if he said I actually have an LS6 intake or just a LS1 intake with the egr blocked off?

so check and see if it was blocked off. if you dont see a spot where it would have gone, it is an ls6 intake

so it's either was one and it's blocked off -or- there is no spot for one. Correct? I'm going to look right now!

I just looked...

I think it is the LS1 intake because at the front of the intake (right after the throttle body) there is a fat washer that is bolted down. Am I right, it is the LS1 intake?

i would assume so unless, like posted above, it is an slp unit. if you take it off there is probably a serial number somewhere that you can check. there is a part# thread floating around here somewhere.

it sounds like an ls1. but its hard to tell just by lookin at the top of the manifold if the EGR has a block off plate. just like landstuhltaylor said, the only way to know now is to take the intake off and check the serial # underneath. or you can just leave it alone and just drive the car.

there is a sideway square on the front after the throttle body. if there is no hoses or anything coming out of it, then you have an ls6. take a picture we'll help you better lil buddy.

I don't have a camera.
Could someone post a pic of an LS6 intake, please?

This is what the LS6 intake on my 2002 looks like. You can see right behind the throttle body there is just a blank spot in the intake manifold.
