Exactly! Think of the number of "returning to stock---need these parts" threads that are posted on this site alone. Many modded cars are returned to stock before being sold.....mainly because a stock car will usually sell quicker than a modded car, and usually you can get more of your money back from your aftermarket parts by selling them off separately.

Its not naive to think the chances are greater of someone beating on a car if its modded. Basically you can guarantee the car has been ran hard at least at times if its modded, but if its not modded theres a chance that it hasn't been beaten on...and yes, there are cars that have been de-modded but you can only do so much. If someone lies to you then they lie to you, nothing you can do about that.

thanks a lot guys. i just recieved part of an early christmas gift from my grandparents. that money should put me over my limit of what i needed. now my search begins. i feel kind of wierd though. im almost 26 and i feel like a kid in a candy store with $$$ to spend and no parents. thanks again.

That you know of...

When I traded mine in I took the nitrous kit off (NOS 5177 dry kit) and got a new lid. Couldn't tell at all it ever had nitrous.
