My TA is insured as a "pleasure car" with American Family Insurance. I just have to keep it under 7500 miles/year. At a $500 deductible my insurance is only 289/6 months...... thats about $50 less than what I am paying for my 95 Grand Am (primary vehicle)!! And I am still under 25 (23) and not under my parents insurance. You can imagine my surprise when I was researching on buying a TA.

I'm through State Farm and I don't remember what it's called that I have the car on but it states on the by account only driven 7,000 miles a year. It costs me $33.00 a month for liability. Why liability someone may ask? Because I'm related to a paint and body man and two of my closest friends are paint and body men. So why spend the extra money?

I have mine as a pleasure car through State Farm. I also added 100/300 coverage, $0 deductible for comprehensive, $500 deductible for collision, uninsured motorist coverage, and free towing/emergency road service. Allowed 7500 miles annually.
After deductions for Multiple line, multicar, vehicle safety, and accident free I pay $321.65 for 6 months.

I have it and LOVE it. It brought my would be insurance from $1400+ to around $500 a year full coverage. Erie also gave me the option of not being covered for 3 months of the year. Obviously I chose the months I wouldn't be driving anyway . Although.. the way this winter is going I could be driving it. Oh, I'm on my own plan too.
