Default Anyone Have Non-Daily Driver Insurance??

I have been told from a few people that I would be able to get Non-DD insurance somewhere. I don't drive my car as much since I bought a Daily Driver. My car is stored most weeks, and if I do drive it it's only like 30 miles on the weekend. I still need to have full coverage since I still have to make payments on it for a few more months. If anyone has any input, fell free to share. Thanks.

i think that its called a pleasure car. i have it. if you put less than like 14000 miles on it you can put it in that class. that is at least through USAA.

yup, having a beater saved me 300 a year. I pay less for 2 cars than I would for 1 car just because of that.
T/A alone full cover 3200,
T/A full, beater liability only 2900 total.

USAA is only for military and there dependants. it is usually much cheaper than most. for the t/a my insurance was 300 every 6 months cheaper. but like i said, its only for military.

When I first went to get insurance on my camaro it was set up as my primary vehicle because I hadn't gotten my DD back yet. My insurance was $1400 every 6 months for full coverage on the camaro. As soon as I got my DD back, less than a month after I got insurance on my camaro I put insurance on my DD and changed the policy on my camaro to a pleasure car. My insurance went from $1400 every 6 months to $361 every 6 months. Thats still the same coverage, the only differance is the pleasure car status, so just doing that saved me $2200 a year. They told me I "can't" drive the car more than 5k a year now, but what they don't know won't hurt. At the rate I'm going my car may only get 2k on it total this year. I've had it 2 months and only drove it 300 miles beside the road trips it's taken.

I've got mine through State Farm BTW.

I have mine with Hagerity, it has to be stored on our property everynight, in a locked garage. like 2,000 miles a year which is about what I'll put on it for $500 a yr. I pray to god it stays there. If I put it on the insurance my trucks on, it was well over $3,000 a yr

Default Insurance

All-State does the same for mine. I have full coverage on the SS and liabilty on my DD (ford ranger). The SS by itself was going to run me close to 3000/year but with the ranger it is only about 1300/year for both.

I told them the ranger was my primary vehicle and the camaro was secondary vehicle that I drove mostly on the weekends. I don't recall them putting any restrictions on miles driven per year.

Check out All-State Insurance, they are located just about everywhere.

I have full coverage on my '69 for $17,000 and I pay like $70 every six months. I think I'm only allowed 2500 miles a year but that can be fixed.

My insurance company doesn't even check mileage on the car? I have the trans am set as what they call a "recreational vehicle" and I have an integra as my primary. I use Farmers Insurance Group, When I first put the vehicle on there as my only car, my premium was $236 a month, I changed it to a recreational(with full coverage), added my integra(with only liability) as my primary vehicle, my monthly premium for BOTH cars is $191.61 a month. So I pay almost $50 less and I have 2 vehicles on it instead of 1.

When I first bought the car I had State Farm, with it as my primary vehicle, on my parents policy(which has like 5 cars on it), my MONTHLY premium was $365 a month, that's more then my damn car payment! I got my own policy very quickly .

By the way i'm 19, have 3 speeding tickets(1 was dropped off with defensive driving, these were all when I was 16 by the way), and have been in 1 accident(got rearended by someone not paying attention).

yet another insurance thread which makes me hate paying NJ rates. even on a family policy, for another year, and listed as a pleasure vehicle, the TA alone is still around 3K a year. plus my 05 colorado, brings it over 4k/yr. yet my 78 TA, on classic insurance, is $190/yr, full coverage.
