I agree with RPM here, I have owned two LS1 cars, and know several people with them. Personally I have clocked about 50k with two diff cars of my own, and besides blowing the posi in the weak 10 bolt, neither have them have had a problem. I think you got a lemon man

Meh, this just is teh suck If it is a plug-wire I should get a misfire code. I dunno what to think. I cant see 1 plug wire killing the motor. or destroying power TOTALLY intermittantly (I.e. not even enough power left to cruise in 6th at 65).

Either way, im stuck with this until I fix it, obviously, and then I will want to keep it, arg. Then something else will go bad, like earlier I noticd coolant on the oil pan, thought the water pump might be going south, BUT, coolant levels are fine, and I drove around for an hour (when it began dying...) and looked at it 2x in a parkinglot and NO COOLANT was leaking ANYWHERE. I dunno, I think this car deserves the plates it got.

Any other ideas?

Could a bad TPS do this? Could a bad TPS also cause an intermittant high-idle situation? I usually get the high idle situation on a REALLY muggy/rainy week. Could this be a problem with my TPS going out?

Without an SES light, it's hard to tell. I'd want to hook up a scanner and look at the TPS readings some during normal operation and hopefully when the issue occurs just to see if anything weird happens (voltage/percentage out of wack).

You really should invest in some scanning equpitment, since you are driving satan. Looks like you'll be dealing with a lot of issues. Sorry man. Dealing with the devil is tough.

Meh, if money was all I lived for then my soul would already be firmly in its grasp.

I have no scanning stuff

I have had a high-idle condition before even after changing out my IAC and I noticed it a bit today, just a tad. The idle sometimes waits until FULL STOP to drop below 1K, sometimes not... Sometimes it actually slowly RISES. I think it may be my TPS. It just decided to kill me tonight, lol. Ideas? It is a $36 part.

But does it slowly rise to 2500rpms randomly when you take your foot off the gas/clutch from a 1500rpm situatuon?

i am fairly new to LS1's but i did have a problem just like this with my daily driver... its a 00 Z24 with the 5 speed and turns out my gas guage is off about an 8th tank, and once in a while when the fuel sloshes it will suck up a litle air and kill the motor for a few seconds but if i am moving and its locked in gear it starts right back up as soon as FUEL reaches the cylinders again cuz the engine is still turning and ignition is still on... but it COULD be a TPS as well... a good friend of mine had problems just like that with the RPM's rising on his GTP and it was the TPS. did you have PLENTLY of fuel or were you near low? or from the sound of it you car needs an exorcism?!? GOOD LUCK!

BLKWS.6 , check your MAF sensor out. There's a chance you might need to clean it or that one of the wires inside is broken and intermittently stops making contact. Just another option for you to check out.
