Default Im Going To Mod It!

That's right! A lid! SO HAH! Dad wanted to buy me something for my 21'st tuesday and this is the best way to placate his desire to buy something. I am still not sure which one I want. Probably SLP since it comes stock on some. Will this lean out my air-fuel ration to a bad point? Does anyone have a stock +lid A/F dyno that they could post up? I dont want anything with exhaust as that richens things, just lid only dyno!!!

PS. I drove it around my appartment complex, scared to take it on the street because its so unreliable right now and I dont want it to randomly die in the path of something large on these wet roads (If I survived maybe I could afford an SRT8 or something nice?), but it was fun just tooling around, made 1 loop and parked Meh. I feel better KNOWING that its my fuel system and most likely my fuel pump that shitted out. At least I know what is wrong and thus can fix it.

I think that's taking it too far, might be hard to return back to stock if you had to sell, your car will probably burn tons of gas and detonate because of this "aftermarket lid". It's probably a good idea to let a professional tuner handle your car after the "lid" to get all the values right, he will probably have to change 20-30 tables

I noticed an audible difference when I put the lid on, especially at WOT. I'm sure there is a power difference too considering how large of a restrictive part comes off that the lid replaces. I think you are way too worried...

LOL, don't worry so much man, it's just a lid. You'll gain about 10rwhp. No need for any tuning, it wouldn't be worth it at your
mod(less) level. Too much money for too little gain, IMO.

No good sir! I just removed the MAF, cleaned it, attatched the gasket to the lid properly (someone had it all messed up and it was allowing minute amounts of air in from the back of the air-box...not good. I am now INTIMATELY FAMILIAR! with the Lid/MAF assy.

That's why a lid is a great power-to-dollar mod. It really has no negatives, and you get an average gain of 10rwhp for about $100. Not bad if you ask me. But there's just no need to get tuning for that mod.

I was just worried about a A/F ration of 13.0 or higher.

Frankly I wounldn't worry about that at all. Anyway, 12.5-13.0 would be fine for a stock timing curve, no power adder LS1...so long as you're running premium fuel.

PS. With a stock tune, you're probably somewhere in the 11.x A/F range at WOT anyway.
