Default What would it take to beat my friends evo?

I have a friend at work who has an Evo that runs an 11.9 in the quarter. Now my question is, what would it take to get my car faster then that. I am not looking to slap on a 250 right away, but I am thinking I wanna put on at least a 75 shot. I want to do a converter, cam, LT's with ORY, and a tune. With a 75 shot, would that get me in that ball park?

Most definetly would! My car ran an 11.2 @ 123 with a small cam no spray Full bolt ons and heads. Get all that to work together nicely and that evo aint got shi.t.

Thanks for moving it. I was looking at stuff in the External Engine, and acidentally posted this there. I was gonna post this here, but forgot to. When i just now looked for it and couldn't find it, I was worried a mod deleted it, lol.

Are you looking to beat him at the track or on the street, dig or roll? I think a cam, some supporting bolt-ons, converter and some sticky tires should be more than enough.

any solid cam setup should beat that evo easy. then he can cry about how much $ he spent on it.

I am looking to want to run him at the track. I don't like to set up street races, but if they pop up while I'm driving, then I'm game.

3800-4000 stall, g5x3, pacesetters, ory, cutout, ls6 intake, ported tb, 25% underdrive pulley, some decent tires, lower control arms, adj panhard rod, and some subframe connectors. Thats what I would do if I were in your situation and im sure that would be enough to hang with your buddies evo both on the track and on the street. Add a 75 shot to that and you will win easy.

You wont need to with most cams out there. G5X3 on a 114 lsa I believe fits stock heads and with bolt ons will get you 400 rwhp (depending on how much the stall eats).

what does he trap? 11.9 is one thing, he could be trapping 140 or 115. Point being, its like asking if you can beat some guy up, but you only know that he is 6'5", you don't know if he weighs 150 or 500lbs. We need the whole story cause a car like an evo is really easy to go faster. The stock turbo itself is good to low 11s at around 120.
