That is one clean looking 2nd gen. I would keep it and save up for a 4th gen. Have them both! (if you have the room).

As far as putting in an LS1, I would keep it as is. True, the LS1 is a superior engine, but the amount of work and trouble (and expense) that goes into swapping an LS1 into a car that wasn't intended to have an LS1 is over the top pain in the ***-it just isn't worth it in my opinion.

Your car looks pretty good. I would suggest driving an LS1 vehicle first and then making up your mind.

I would definitely keep it. I don't know your financial situation, but if its possible, keep it AND get an LS1 car. That's what I would try to do.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your input and opinions. I am looking at a low mile (9500 miles) 02 SS today. If that does not work out I think I will end up keeping the car for now. Thanks again.

i would keep that car its really nice and in great shape for its age and ls1 are great dont get me wrong but i wouldnt give up a pristene second gen for a ls1 ss that just me tho if you must get one dont sell that car if you must dont sell it to anyone that wouldnt take as good of care of it as you would i seen it happen to many times to friends and my pops he had a cherry 69 nova 396 ss i think it was a 375hp option and 3days after he sold it which he regrets to this day the punk kid who bought it rapped it a round a tree a perfect numbers mathing car in almost mint shape gone just like that so just think about what means more to you an ls1 ss that you see at least once a day or a car that you may not see maybe once a year in that condition the decision is your what ever you do you wont be dissapointed

When you don't use punctuation, it makes you sound like a little kid telling a story to his parents.

Damn that car is sick, extra clean too. keep it, you don't see cars like that anymore. Keep that one and work extra hard and buy an LS1 too if possible.

You"ll probably regret it if you sell it ,guaranteed.

Just keep it original. It may be worth some money later on.

I'm all 4 keeping it and adding the LS1. I love 2nd gens. I love LS1s...it's a natural.

You know what you have to do!

(But maybe just the engine not the whole front suspension-wow)

I would be replacing it with an 01 or 02 ss 6 speed.

Thanks for any opinions.

Two words: N. O.

Hell no.

Also, after Transformers comes out, Second Gens will probably be worth a bit more than they are right now.

If you're in love with the engine like I am, do a transplant. That would be sweet.
