Just so we can have a general convo what would you guys say is the biggest differences of these two?

The beter question would be what do they have in common.

Everyone has their reasons for liking one car more than another, some, like me, like both and have respect for both as well.

And FYI post like this tend to get locked, good potentail for stupid arguments...

 

oh and the main reasons i dont like mustangs.. they have no T-tops or sunroof options.. which is not cool.. they come with mainly 5spd trannys except for 03-04 cobras and maybe select other models... all the new ones run IRS which is not part of a "muscle car" (to me) they also have very small gauges which i hate.. im sure more will come to me..

 

They are 2 completely different cars, you could list almost every single part on just one car and that would be a the list of differences. Your question is way to broad. As far as the hating, I don't hate them, I really like alot of cars, there are some sick Mustangs out there. Terminators are just awesome, the new Shelbys are pretty cool, the 05 GT's look decent, although not my favorite, and most of them sound incredible.

 

The sound of the Mustang always puts a smile on my face, but the POWER of the LS1 is the biggest difference to me IMO

 

I like pushrod motors over the mod motors. But what answers were you expecting from an f-body biased forum?

Having have owned both mustangs and F-Body's I'm not sure what your looking for but... I like both. I like the torque of my TA a lot more then that of the mustang but then again having a hih reving V-8 is nice when it is supercharged. I like the looks of both in there own way. The rear ends I prefer on the mustang all the way. I hate the shitty 10 bolt in the TA. Then again I prefer the tranny and the Hydraulic clutch in the F-body's. I like the forged internals on the mustangs. The displacement on the f-body's. The leather interior in my opinion is nicer in the mustangs. The monsoon system is way better then the mach1 sterior in the mustangs. I love the t-tops on the f-body's. The true duals on the mustangs are pretty cool also. Drivability is nicer for everyday use in the f-dosy though in my opinion. Well those are my thought on the mater.

You would probally get a lot better unbiased response on a plan car fourm opposed to a GM specific fourm, obviously everyone here prefers an F body or they wouldnt be here, with that said this thread will probally not accomplish anything

The mustang is more of a car for the average guy while the f-body is a bit more specialized. The f-body handles better--but has a rougher ride. It makes more power--but has a "noisy" engine. It weighs less (than the 05's) but has less cargo room. Basically, it is for a more "hardcore" customer than the mustang.

 

Just my opinion.
