Still in the works. No idea when it will be made or released. But I can almost guarantee they won't use a LS1 Trans Am. Remember Ford vehicles in Team Knight Rider? They more than likely will do a one off custom job, like in Knight Rider 2000. Some sort of body shell over a production car, in this case a Dodge Stealth. I can hope for a 4th gen, but I don't see it happening.

would be cool if gm let them customize the upcoming camaro into a custom trans am, but they rpobably don't want to do that, because everyone will think there will be a new trans am. would be nice though.

I think a C6 is the obvious answer. Black with a nice set of aftermarket black wheels and black out the head and tail lights. Pop the red scanner in the front bumper. It would be a nice modernization of the old car. Sadly there is no T/A and I don't think it would look right as KITT if it was retro like a smokey and the bandit concept drawing.
Either way I'm not holding me breath on the movie seeing as this is the third time it has been in pre-production since 2002 and there is no cast. That movie poster was nothing but a photoshop from some shmoe.

i'm like obsessed with Knight Rider, i'm not even gonna lie about that one. haha
here's what the latest speculation has been on the movie...i hate it...i want a T/A or C6 or something american, modern is good, but it just doesn't look like KITT...
