Have you ever noticed you almost never see C5+ Corvettes or 4th gen F-Bodies getting caught on Cops?
Guess a 220 hp Crown Victoria can't catch one.
We had a Black Z06 about 2 years ago outrun a cop's Black Cobra. Ridiculous overspending by the police depart especially since he used it on his off days, and no it was NOT a drug dealers claimed car. Paid by tax dollars.
Anyway -> The Z06 ran over the the tire spike dragon teeth whatever they call it and the cops that had it out didn't pull it back fast enough and the Cobra ran over it and crashed. The Z06 just drove off.
Later one of the cops happened by a shop about 3 towns north saw four almost new (minus the holes of course) Goodyear F1 run-flats sitting on a shelf being displayed. They asked the shop owners who the check was made out to.
"Cash."

239 on the newer ones still sucks. They need to stick a DOHC engine option on those cars.
The freakin' Mark VIII had something like 290 hp right (no idea on torque).
Only outdated ones around here. These suckers are the older ones. It's like Southeast Albuquerque is stuck in the late 90's. Hate this state!
When the taxi cabs around here are running newer models than the cops then there is a problem.

About three years ago I was riding down Jefferson road in Joliet, Illinois. Now this is a 4 lane road (2 lanes each direction) with a speed limit of 35-40 MPH and stop lights every 1/4 mile or so.
I was cruising with my wife next to me on a sunny July afternoon when suddenly we heard tires screeching. We were too far back to see anything but up ahead I had to drive through a cloud of smoke. A few miles up from that I see a LS1 Camaro and a late 60's Mustang pulled over with two squad cars on the scene and two kids in thier late teens/early 20's sitting on the curb with thier hands tiewrapped behind thier backs.
I looked over at my wife and smiled as I said:
"That's why I go to Rt. 66 Speedway to race. While I'm jumping your bones tonight in bed those guys will get thier lovin from Tiny and Bubba."
Ok I just made up the tiny and bubba comment but the rest was true

It's a funny story but the guy was a violent drug runner.
The only good thing that came about was he was eventually arrested and the cop chief/elected sheriff got some serious bad press by the local newspaper about using tax payer dollars for purchasing a Cobra Mustang to use as his own personal recreation vehicle.
(he wasn't relelected btw and the dealer was sent to prison)
Oh yeah, his Cobra also had blackouts on the headlights and brakelights and an incedibly loud exhaust. Like it had not cats and a cutout. You could hear the guy from practically a mile away. Only saw the car once and that was after he lost his job.
