I wanted a black WS6 but in 01 when I was ready to order they changed to the new ugly 01-02 wheels so I got a regular Trans Am.

You did not get LS6 heads (243 castings) stock from the factory. I don't care what the salesman said.

Intake? yes. Block? possibily. Heads? NO.

Well, I had a 25th Anniversary T/A before my SS, my brother has the T/A now, got a small cam and a tune, he loves it. When I was in the market early last year I wanted a C5 FRC, black WS6 or a black SS. I couldn't find a damn black WS6 for ****, so when I found my SS, went to look at it and the price was a steal.

Nothing. Just slightly different styling. Quality level is the same though.

personally i always liked the camaros better the than the t/a's . I was looking for a camaro when i found my formula. I always liked the interiors of the t/a's better but the clean lines of the camaro got me. Then i stumbled across The firebird formula it was the best of both worlds clean lines like a camaro and interior of a t/a

The Camaro's price was right for my budget, and I had a 1985 Trans Am. Those pop up headlights are cool until they stop working!

I've had a Camaro, Formula Firebird, and now my Trans Am. I love all of the F-bodies and wouldn't have cared if I ended up back in a Camaro, but the girlfriend loved the curves of the TA so I went that route.

Gone but never forgotten

Had a 1999 Trans Am (my first car) that I leased (never again) in May of 1999 after I got my license in March of the same year. Car went into the divider on the highway after I had a blowout on my front driver's side tire 4 years later (June 2003) after I financed it for 17K. Insurance cut me a check for 18K then I picked up the Camaro in November of 2004 for 12K and 30K miles, financed this time.
Firebirds at that time were running for 14K+ which is why I went with the Camaro.

It was a trade off at best. I had to take a whole bunch of heavy luxury crap in even the base package (forgot the #) for a Formula, also adding cost (even factoring in the "loyalty" discount from the Poncho/GMC/Caddy dealer I would have bought it from). But then, with the Formula, I could have had a hardtop with the same color roof as the body, WITHOUT HAVING TO get a black car (I REALLY wanted silver, and NO I was not willing to paint the roof of a brand new car!). So I settled for a black, NO options (crank windows, manual everything), lightweight Z28, for < $ 21K ordered new.

I voted 'I'm happy with my purchase because all LS1 F-Bodies kick ***' but actually bought my TA because I am a bird lover - first car was a 67 bird and I still have it(29 years and counting)

I like both, but there's something about the WS6. It just looks angry!

Personally, I think the Camaro looks 10x better inside and out. I'm not a fan of the "Pontiac orange" interior lights. The Camaro looks more refined and just better overall. Also, I think the Trans Am and WS6 just have way too much going on exterior-wise. Again, I think the Camaro is more refined and sleek. Hence, I chose the SS.

I am not in any way bashing the Trans Ams or WS6s. I love them both intensely. I just prefer the Camaro.
