Default why so cheap?

Ok my friend called me yesterday and said he is thinking about buying this car and he was reading the list of parts and work done to this car and i told him there has to be a catch somewhere. The deal looks almost to good to be true!! Let me know what you guys think!http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...address=29644&

My bet is he got the tune wrong and washed some rings or got the tune wrong and is minus a ring-land or something and just is sick and wants it GONE!

It says it needs a tune so manybe the owner F-ed something up by driving it untuned? I would say though that that is a somewhat fair price for a heavily modified car. It does seem on the low side but it appears that its riding on the stock 10-bolt as the owner doesnt mention an upgraded rear so that would be something to consider as well. Car looks very well kept and as someone else said maybe he just needs to sell it quick so id check it out if the seller is near you as it couldnt hurt.

It is priced the same as it should be stock. Very odd. Something is wrong with it.

You know what I think? It's probably a Katrina car. They're showing up all over the place now. Either that or it's been stolen or wrecked at some point. The odometer reads 37K. That car IS priced like a stocker. My buddy recently went to a dealer to look at a Trailblazer with 30K on it for 11,500. It was 3,000 less than a few others he had looked at with double the mileage. Well, when he got there he saw why. Really shoddy paint work... obvious repaired rollover. Buyer beware! I wouldn't touch that car even if it was 10K.

The deal seems to go to be true but if it is legit your friend should jump on it.

Just out of curiostiy(sp) what do you guys think this car is worth? Asumming everything is right on it and runs like a champ. Personally I don't think I would buy a car that is that heavily moded from someone I don't know.

yea,.......I'm gonna have to agree with the thought of it be'n jacked due to a crappy tune. E-mail the owner and ask how the internals are.

Well it sounds like it is full of good parts (built engine and tranny), but I would like to know what turbo kit it is (log manifold, custom setup, etc), if it is riding on the stock 10-bolt, and what fuel system it has. Assuming the car was in great condition and that the engine was OK without having a tune and running it 1000 miles then I would say around 18-20K, but again that is if the engine, turbo kit, tranny, fuel system are all good.

i agree with everyone that it is suspicious. I would never buy a heavily modded car from anyone but a friend. But if he really wants it go take it for a drive.

have you considered (a) asking the guy what the catch is and (b) taking it for a test drive? I didnt look at the ad too much, maybe its a salvage title?? Thatīd depreciate it a lot, too.
