Default why did SLP......

stop making the dual dual, 2OTL and the CME... was it strickly demand... or they wanted out of the firebird/camaro... funny they are back in it now with word of the 5th gen and beefing up customer service

2OTL and dual/dual were excellent systems (I've owned both). It's a shame they stopped producing them.

My guess would be because the Camaro/Firebird was no longer in production and they weren't making that much profit by still manufacturing the products. They saw a new market with other cars, so shifted that way to try and capture some $$$. I know that when I first heard they were making stuff for Mustangs I was like WTF!?!? But I bought a LM1 catback for my GT and it was great.

EXACTLY they make the exhaust systems in house or at least they did.... so it should be just a matter of a set up and banging out a batch of product

No, you can still get dual/dual tips on the loudmouth system, but they used to make an entire catback that was commonly referred to as "dual/dual". The system included a very high flowing (but rather quiet) muffler that was very popular with people running headers with no cats, because it would greatly tame the exhaust note without killing power.

The system was very heavy though. Big muffer, and lots of stainless.

All I have to say to SLP is THANKS. They pretty much funded my cam swap with the production halt on the CME stuff.

I was wondeing why I couldn't find this 2OTL exhaust system I heard such great things about for sale anywhere. What kind of setup was it, just a standard catback w/crossflow, or something different? I will probably do something with the exhaust on my car eventually, thinking either Magnaflow catback or an electric cutout.

I dont think it is a cross flow 2otl means '' 2 out the left'' so both tail pipes are on the left side

What can does the Dual/Dual use? I just got a SS that has it, and was just curious cuz it kinda resembles a Flowmaster.

In many cases this might be true, but not with the 2OTL system. I paid $400ish for that all-stainless system back in '01/'02. Great buy.

Dual/dual was far more expensive though.

The dual/dual muffler is very different from a flowmaster on the outside. First, it's stainless (vs aluminized for the flowmaster). Second, the muffler is shaped and sized somewhat different.

If you could take some close up picks of the muffler many of us here could tell you which it is, if you want. I know I could tell the difference right away.

It depends if you had to cut it and condition, but usually in the ballpark of 250-400, just depends
