I pay for my mods with the money I make at work. I haven't used or owned a credit card in a very long time for anything. I am also 24. Getting into credit card debt over car modding is retarded IMO. If you can't afford your mods with your paycheck then don't buy them at all.

Most of my mods are paid for with side work (I do network support) or performance bonuses.
I rarely put things on CC unless I intend to pay it off before the end of the grace period
(IE, sale ends Sunday but I don't get paid until Friday)

I just look in the mail for those 0% for 12 month credit card offers. I buy all my parts with that card and make sure I pay the entire balance off over the 12 month period and cancel the card. I have done this with both of my cars and it has worked for me.

An old drag racer once told me if you cant afford to push your hot rod off a cliff and walk away you shoudnt be building race cars. Pretty well sums it up

Everyone has their vices, women, gambling, drinking but at least you get 50 cents on the dollar back from most car parts if you sell them.

cash, cash, cash....... that's why i've been setting up my car to run 8's for close to 3 years.... everything done right and top quality parts.... **** adds up crazy quick.... got at least 25-30K in this round of mods including motor and all suspension, cage, fuel, engine mgmt stuff.....

haven't financed any of it but it's taken an assload of time..... i'll be happy in the end that I own it all though.... tax time helps that's for sure.....

Oh if all else fails and you need some cash find some down on their luck ladies and learn all you can about the term:

PIMPIN AIN'T EASY......

i get the cash to buy something. put the cash aside in a CD, use credit to buy it, pay the monthly payments on it (no interest ftw!) and after the 6 month cd is over i pay off whatever's left on the bill, and i now have some left over + interest to spend on another mod and so on!

I only buy stuff that I can pay in full right then. I just stick it on my card and pay it off when the bill comes so the interest dont kick in.. Make sure you do have some sort of savings account though so when your water heater explodes and floods your house, you dont have to sell your bogarts and forged 348.

If you have enough self control to use a credit card, there great! Always remember the need/want thing. Take care of the stuff in your life you need first. We dont need to mod our cars so cash flow going to that should be secondary.

Villain281H summed it up best. there will always be someone faster. Don't go broke trying to catch up to them.

well im only 21, and the first time around I used the credit card on the Formula, and got into about $4,000 in debt lol, but good news is I paid it off in just over a year and I gave the credit cards to my parents lol, never doing that again, so now im saving up and paying cash for everything, which basically means its gonna be a slow *** process lol

I'm twenty, full time college student, have a part time job and when those sweet refunds come in from the university and i have every last single bill for the entire year off i use the left over for parts. The part time job mostly feeds partying habits and gas money/insurance. But in some years hopefully i will be a practicing doctor and not have to give a **** about the cost of tt kit for a 2013 ZO6 vette. LOL

Paid in cash up front. If I don't have the money, I don't buy. And I always plan for the future, no modding money comes out of the savings account, no matter how bad I may want something. Next to quitting smoking it has been the hardest thing I have ever had to do.
