Default wrecked car last night

so i was on the expressway heading back from chicago, around 8:30 last night..( it had just rained) and i was in the far left lane, and i was crusiing at 80, all of a sudden my *** end kicks out when im switching lanes, i start to drift to the right, i cross all lanes of traffic spinning, miss a semi by a couple feet, keep spinning, cross all the lanes of traffic again so now im back on the left side, and i smash in to the cement median.... luckily me and my friend are okay, which matters... but my car isnt looking so hot

That sucks dude! Did you have Drag Radials on or what? I got caught in the rain one time in my vette.. Drag radials and wet roads is like trying to drive on solid ice! I'll avoid rain at all costs!

Damn, what caused it aside from a sudden lane change?

Sorry about the car, I dont blame you for Driving 80mph. I know how everyone drives here in Chicago drives on the Expressway. You can be doing 80, and Cars are still passing you like nothing.

we need pics. good thing you and your buddy are ok. i've never had the problems with rain and big tires. And mine were bald all last summer. But mine is a LT1 and probably doesn't make enough power lol. Actually if it's raining it is still an interesting drive. I have to slow down alot to keep it safe.

Thank God you and your buddy are ok! Thats great news!!! I am sorry to hear about your car - I had a car catch on fire before and just burn to the ground ... while I watched it happen. NOT fun Don't worry though I'm sure you'll be back bigger and better soon!

Man, that sucks dude. I came real close to that on 294 when my front passenger tire blew doing 65-70. I was able to get it to the side of the road, no damage, but I almost got creamed by a semi. Sad to hear about your car! People on 294 have passed me in the SS when I was doing 80+! I'm not talking racecars either, I'm talking mini-vans and F150s!

man, i hate to be the one to say it but they will probably total it...quarter panel damage and the front end like that...its so easy for insurance companies to just total out uni-bodies...

yeah it's gonna take some work make sure the frame isn't swayed. That rear 1/4 is gonna be the biggest bitch as that's VERY labor intesive. It's fixable though. If they total it, buy it back and fix it. You could come out good on it. ~Cole~

lol yep. I usually go up to my GF house on the weekend (90 miles away) and would jump in with the IL people. It's nothing to go 100MPH down 94.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I think they will total it. Time to upgrade to a c5 vette
