I'm using the NGK TR55s right now (gapped at .055), been using them for years with great results. But I plan to try the AC Delco Iridiums next. However, for the AC Delco Iridiums, GM says to leave their gap at .040, so that's what I'd recommend to do for a stock to mild engine.
I would avoid the platinum tip plugs. IMO.

I checked my stock plug and it was loosely gapped at .057 (Did not want to WEDGE the guage in there with the fine-wire setup). Stock is .060. I bet mine was right-on had I tight-gapped it. It looked mint and I have 79K on them.
