Default Dilemma

I really like the trans am look.. Im considering getting a TA hatch, TA rear bumper cover (whichever has the grooves for exhaust), and TA sideskirts for my 98 firebird.

Should i bother getting all this and getting it all painted or just save up for a TA?

Also, around what mileage does a typical V6 engine crap out? Mine has 106k and want to sell it before it craps out on me

My 2000 camaro had 125k before i traded it in. REMEMBER it is all in the way you treat your car. I raced my camaro a few times, and blew out the clutch. After that i ran it real easy - just tuned it up realll well.

I think you have a while til it craps out on you, but I'd save the $ and put it towards saving for a TA.

I think ive treated it pretty well, in ~6 months only put 2000 or so miles on it, i never drive out of town (usually ride with friends) so i wont rack up assloads of mileage on it

save for the t/a, do what makes you happy, i was also considering it, but like how embarrasing it would be if some kid in a civic pulls up and wants to race you, i wanna put 10 cars on him, not 2

You have the V-6 3800 series II engine in your Firebird and it is not going to crap out anytime soon, long time. Very reliable. I put a custom 3 inch exhaust on my '01 bird and it sounded good, but still wasn't a V-8. If you modify your Firebird, in the end you will have spent a bunch of money and you will still want a V-8. Save your Bird as is 'cause they are cool and someone will love it when you get rid of it. Save your mod money and trade up to the LS1 when you can. You won't regret it. You will regret spending money to make the Bird look like a TA but not perform like one.
