Default Why can't people get my car's name right?

I don't get it..... people are soo ignorant. My trans am has been called a "camaro" multiple times, often times by people who consider themselves knowledgeable about cars.

It has been called a "Ws6", no matter how many times i tell them it isn't, people still will call it a ws6.

Also I have people who call it a "firehawk" regardless of what i tell them they go back to calling it a firehawk....

Is trans am that hard to remember?

Get rid of the hood and they'll probably start calling your car Trans Am not WS6. When I had my firebird someone thought it was a FERRARI.

I can understand the firebird formula being mistaken for a firebird....maybe even a trans am.

Ya if they don't call it a camaro they usually call it a TA i guess they think if it has a v8 it cant be a firebird. I usually don't waste my time explaining it.

This stuff all seems like common sense to us, but to people totally uninterested in cars; well then just don't really know the difference.

I've seen many people over the years mistake GN's for Monte Carlo SS's. Then you tell them it's a Grand National and they look at you like you just gave birth to a chicken and say..... "Huh??? What the hell is that???".

Lol saw a formula driving by today and my friend was riding with me. I said nice formula and he goes "What the hell is a formula?" What ensued was probably quite boring to him, but it was a 5 minute talk on every package available to the firebird.

how you cant know the difference between a camaro and a firebird is beyond me. Thats just uncalled for.

The trim lines, production years, and engine you gotta give people a break as they likely just dont know

I think more people have called my car a camaro than Trans Am, I always love correcting them and a brief history of f-bodies. But I think the Formula guys have it the worse.

Think about Joe Blow who only bought his car for transportation, and because he liked the color. Chances are he's more interested in his stamp collection than he is in the differences between cars on the road.

Yeah I'll agree that Formula owners probably have it the worst.
Like I said in another thread I tossed up the idea of get a personal plate that said NOT A TA.
