i'd think there should b a casting number or something on the block. if i remember correctly it's tricky to see and a mirror is required, but look up how to tell if you have a ls6 block. that will tell u where and how to find what your looking for. i'm too lazy to do it for you lol.

yeah im not sure thats the number he wrote down for me to put on here, he has a SS but befor he got it the guy befor him crashed it racing on course and put this engine in it...i think its a little bit faster then a regular LS1 and want to know what its out of.. would you be able to check for me?

Do you know for a fact that it's an LS1 motor? Could it be an LS2 or LS6?
Call one of the well-known Chevy dealerships and ask the parts guys there - I'm sure they could tell you, or at least tell you how to figure it out.
