I've heard that too. There are several different stories on if, where, what and how on these cars. I'm building a hardtop Trans Am as a race car project, but I won't be passing it off as factory.

I know of definitely one. He used to go by the user name "Shaman" back in the old days of LS1.com. His car was delivered in Canada I believe. He fought tooth and nail to get it built without t-tops and it was a bright red version just like theone I had.

Only difference, mine was 1 of 14 Formula hard tops with the 1LE autocross option.

As far as I knew all TA's were t-top. If you saw a hardtop TA it would actually be a Formula conversion. I guess thats still mostly the case.

I saw a red hardtop with Canadian plates the other day in the D.C. area...

I beleive the other is a white hardtop T/A and was used as a magazine test car. I know this because I remember the Car and Driver issue, It was a White Trans Am hardtop with a M6 and a cloth interior.

There are "gaps" in the info. I have never seen a breakdown of colors for 2000. GM has breakdowns for color, transmission type, vert/T-tops/hardtop and everything else for almost every other year before and after 2000, but we get banged.

Yeah, I have an '00 to, no real big deal, but it would be nice to get full breakdown of the #'s and get my ASC. I guees 2000 was slack for record keeping. Again, more thread hyjacking, sorry.
