Part of the best sticky ever created...JRP's FAQ For Commonly Asked Questions

No problem, I didn't read your thread all the way. I just saw RPO codes and jumped to a conclusion. It's 2 am, we are all tired.

Well there is the Assembly Plant and the shipping..PBT could be for the SS Hood.
VM3 could be something to do with the Air Bags.

The Feds mandated some time ago (1973, boy that dates me, eh?) that front and rear bumpers must be able to withstand a 5 mile per hour impact.

mustang gt bumpers are only rated to withstand 2.5 mph without damage to bumper or safety systems

thats what happens when ford builds it

and doesnt every ss have to have a WU8 code or its just a clone?

3. PBT - Identification temporary hood for upfitter delivery **what does this mean?

This is the temporary hood GM put on the SS's and WS6's that were going to SLP and ASC where they put on the SS or WS6 hood

4. R9Z - control sales item number 100 **what does this mean?

Found explanations for a few of these I have - I will have to look at the info I have accumulated at home to see if I have it for this code.....

6. VM3 - Label information consumer contains BPR IMP standard for frt 5 mph and RR 5 mph **WTF does this mean?

This is actually a code for the sticker under the hood(?) that says the car has met the bumper impact standard
