If you want a Cobra and can afford it, get it. Simple.
It's not all about which car is faster, it's about what you want and how much you can afford.
There you now. Now go buy your Cobra.

id PERSONALLY buy a Eagle talon, throw a GT-35R turbo, 10000cc intercooler, 1000 cc injectors, monster tach, 6" downpipe, AEM exhaust tip... ud smoke every car on this site...
PSYCHE, i love both cars.. theres so much potential in them its really mind boggling.. but if i had to chose one it'd be a termi.. everytime i see them my jaw drops to the floor.. kinda like a 6th grader seeing his first boobie

When I bought my Cobra. It was between a Z06 or my Cobra. The reason I got the Cobra because it was cheaper to make the power I wanted and the car was cheaper too. Yes I still love the C5-Z06. But I achived my goals with the Cobra. Between the TA and Cobra. I would say Cobra. Not because I own one. Because I know how easy it is to make good cheap power. Its all american muscle to me.

Anyone with half a brain knows that Cobras hold their value better than F-bodies...
No offense to the LS1 owners (I've owned 2 of them)...but when selling time comes, I'd rather be in a Cobra. Cobras and LS1s are both VERY badass cars. Anything can be fast, just keep that in mind. It's all about your budget, what your goals are, and which car you enjoy driving more.
Good luck on your decision, I know it is a tough one to make!

Well i havent read the 7 pages of this, but number one, buy what you want, who cares what others think?
I have/ had many mustangs, and im on my 2nd 4th gen. The newer mustangs are very nice, mach 1000 sound system, not as many rattles and so on, and the look of the cobra is pretty bad ***. Also 850rwhp without taking off the valve covers ( see 5.0 mag king of street 06, cobra with helion tt kit)
is pretty bad ***
Personally, i love the cobras, they are fast, have good brakes, the irs isnt so terrible with some bracing and good bushings, and the aftermarket loves them
But, me personally, i like cars my way, and what i mean is, i would rather have my fully modded 96 ws6 trans am, with paint job, interior, engine, tranny so on so on, that i want, rather then a stockish 30k car, that anybody can buy. To me, its like an evo or sti, sure they are fast, sure they are cheap and easy to mod, but they are like ********, everybodys got one, and i like to stand out in the midstream. Im not saying fbodies are rare by any means, but having 15 grand to customize one you can do alot.
Hell you can buy a clapped out high milage one for under 10 grand, and put the suspention, motor, interior, paint, w-e and still come in under a stock cobras price.
Both are awesome cars, cant go wrong with either

I know what your talking about I work for Ford and as nice as the 07 Convertibles are I decided on a C5 that I could add all of my personal touches to. I now have a car that I have never seen another one like.

to be honest no i dont think you will regret it, those are some pretty sick stangs. im not a ford guy at all (except F250 Diesels and 03 Cobras) honestly i would stick with the LS1 either T/A or Camaro but if i was ever to switch from GM it would ONLY be those 2 fords i mentioned. a 03 cobra can easily be passed with some minor bolt ons from a LS1 and im not talking big bolt ons, just the little things and if your a good driver you need even less. its your choice they are both badass cars

I almost gave up yesterday and I was at a Ford dealership test driving the new GT's.... I won't lie, they were terribly slow for being a brand spankin new car. Doesn't hold a match to an LS1.
Then I test drove an 04 cobra.....nice....
But again, I wasnt impressed for it having 390 HP. If you supercharge an LS1...a cobra has no chance...and thats basically what the cobra is....a supercharged GT with a 6-speed...

The Cobra base without the blower is NOT like the 4.6 in the GT...check out the info on those bases.
